Sequence-perfect DNA is the starting point, not the finish line. Once your DNA arrives, the next steps are usually the same across every project: bank the clone so you don’t have to re-order it and scale up enough material to run your experiment. We built two add ons to remove both of those steps from your bench. Add either to any Clonal DNA or XL Clonal DNA. No separate order, no extra shipment to track.

DNA Scale-Up (Maxi Prep)

More material, same sequence-perfect guarantee.

Standard delivery is sized for cloning, sequencing, and small-scale validation — but transfections, animal studies, cell line generation, and other downstream work often need more DNA. Our scale-up preps your construct at maxi-prep scale, so you get the yield your experiment requires without a second order or a re-prep.

Included Components

  • 10 µg–1 mg of plasmid DNA per prep (expected total mass is based on the maxi prep quantity and plasmid copy number)
  • Select from a standard maxi prep or Endotoxin-free 
  • Delivered in solution (Low TE buffer or DNase/RNase-Free Distilled Water)
  • Normalization to 1000, 500 or 100 ng/µl

Select DNA Scale-Up as an add on when placing your order in the Ansa portal, specify the number of preps you need for each clonal product, the elution buffer and any normalization required. Turnaround time for an order with DNA Scale-Up will be longer than our standard products: it starts at an additional 6 Business days but is calculated based on the number of items in your order with scale-up. 

Glycerol Stocks

Skip transformation for plasmid banking.

Every clone we deliver already exists as a validated, sequence-confirmed single transformant in our system. A glycerol stock add on means we bank that exact clone for you at the point of manufacture, so you receive a ready-to-use, -80°C freezer-stable stock alongside your DNA, saving you time and effort.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it possible to include both add ons to the same order?

Yes — glycerol stocks and DNA scale-up can be added independently or together on any eligible order.

Are you able to add scale-up and glycerol stock to all products?

Glycerol stocks and DNA scale-up are available for Clonal DNA and XL Clonal DNA, but are not available for DNA Fragments.

How much does each add on cost? 

Each glycerol stock ordered will have an additional fee of $30. Scale-up is priced based on the total size of the insert and starts at $325 per maxi-prep.

Is it possible to request a glycerol stock or scale-up while my order is still in manufacturing or has already shipped?

Depending on where in manufacturing your order is, we might be able to add glycerol stocks or scale-up preps to your order. Please reach out to our Support Team within the ordering portal to see if it is still possible.

Can I request my scale-up is Endotoxin-free?

Yes, we can perform our scale-up using an Endotoxin-free kit with a spec of 0.1 EU/µg. While we have benchmarked our preps against the vendor’s specifications to meet the standard, we do not certify the specific levels of Endotoxin contained in our preps. Please note that the overall yield from an Endotoxin-free prep is less than that from standard prep. If you are trying to maximize the yield and do not require Endotoxin-free samples, we suggest ordering the standard prep to ensure you get the most DNA possible.

Is normalization available for my scale-up?

Yes, while we typically ship scale-up without normalization we can also normalize your sample to 1000, 500 or 100 ng/µl. Please note that if the diluent volume required for normalization exceeds 1.3 mL, the sample will be normalized to the nearest 100 ng/µL increment. If the measured concentration is lower than requested, the sample will not be normalized and will be provided at the eluted concentration.
